What an MSP broker actually is
A managed service provider runs your IT: helpdesk, security, cloud, backups. An MSP broker helps you choose which one. We are not an MSP ourselves, and that's the point. We don't win by selling you our own contract. We win by matching you with the provider whose team, tooling, and pricing genuinely fit a business your size, in your industry, in your part of Maryland.
Most small and mid-sized businesses pick an MSP the hard way: a referral from a friend, three cold calls, sales pitches that all sound identical, and a two-year contract signed on hope. The average owner does this once every five to seven years, which means the MSP's salesperson has run this negotiation a hundred times more than you have. A broker levels that table.
Why it costs you nothing
Providers compensate us when a match succeeds, the same way recruiters and insurance brokers work. You never get a bill from us, and no provider can buy their way onto your shortlist: a provider who fails vetting stays off the list no matter what they'd pay, because our business only works if our matches hold up. We put that in writing at the start of every engagement.
What the engagement looks like
- Discovery. A 30-minute conversation about your team, your industry, your compliance obligations, what's breaking, and what you pay today.
- Provider profile. We write down what your ideal MSP looks like: size, response model, security stack, industry experience, on-site radius. You approve it before anything goes out.
- Search and vetting. We run the profile against our network of Maryland providers. Where it helps, we issue a formal RFP. We check references, insurance, financial stability, and real response-time data.
- Shortlist. Two or three providers, each with a one-page comparison in plain English: strengths, weaknesses, pricing, and contract terms worth negotiating.
- Selection and negotiation. You interview the finalists. We sit with you, translate the jargon, and negotiate terms before you sign.
- Onboarding oversight. We stay involved through the first 90 days to make sure the provider delivers what they promised.
Who this is for
Maryland businesses from roughly 10 to 250 employees: law firms in Bethesda, medical practices in Towson, contractors near Fort Meade, manufacturers on the Eastern Shore, nonprofits in Baltimore. If you have an IT budget but no IT department, or a one-person IT team that needs backup, you're exactly who this service was built for.
It's equally useful whether you're hiring your first MSP, replacing one that's stopped performing, or just want to know if your current contract is fair. The shortlist and the findings are yours to keep either way.
